About Us

Amel Logan, founder and CEO of Each One Reach One, LLC, was born in Brooklyn, New York. During his freshman year of high school, Amel relocated to the Northern Virginia area. He graduated from George Mason University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in
Psychology. After graduating from George Mason University, Amel and his wife, Tanya, relocated to Delaware. In 2000, Amel graduated from Wilmington College with a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling from their Community Counseling program. Amel is currently licensed as a professional counselor in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Over the past 13 years, Amel has worked in the helping profession in a variety of positions which has helped develop and mold him and his talent of working with a diversity of people
and their dilemmas. Amel’s career began while working for a local D.C. non-profit organization
as an overnight phone counselor for adults experiencing crisis.

This position opened Amel’s eyes to vast of array of dilemmas that people are faced with everyday. He also enjoyed learning that it did not matter what face, nationality, gender, upbringing, or how much money someone made, they struggled with the same concerns and dilemmas. Needless to say, this position set the groundwork for Amel to view people based on who they truly are and not on the external characteristics that so many of us are judged by. From this position, Amel continued to further his career and held positions as a camp counselor, counselor for teenage adjudicated males, social worker for Big Brothers Big Sisters, social worker for the child welfare system, family therapist, program director to two non-profit agencies (one focusing on inspiring teenage males and the other providing parent support groups), individual, home based counselor, and supervisor for a local child welfare agency. In addition to these paid positions, Amel also has been a mentor to a number of teenage males over the past 10 years and was acknowledged as “Big Brother of the Year” in 2000.

Amel believes that in addition to his educational and career background, his family and upbringing in Brooklyn, New York has also shaped and molded his passion for working in this field, as well as had a direct impact on who he is today. Growing up in the projects gave Amel first hand experience with people who were affected by a number of life’s dilemmas. As a result, Amel witnessed first hand the type of people they were, how their dilemmas negatively impacted them, and what was lacking in the way of resources to help this person work through the dilemma. This was the spring board for accepting people for who they really are as well as wanting to do something to help people with their dilemmas.

Amel believes that people inherently have the right to be happy and that we can each help someone worked through their dilemmas. This is the guiding principal behind Each One Reach One. We all have the ability to help someone regardless of how big or small the assistance is, it is enough to positively impact someone’s life and move them one step closer to self-satisfaction.
